Thank you!  This truck leaving our facilities is on its way to the Syrian Canadian Foundation.

Costi, a BFC partner agency, and volunteers from The Clothing Drive and IIT (Islamic Institute of Toronto), handed out bags of personal hygiene products to 500 Syrian men, women and children. Each package contained various personal care items generously donated by Procter & Gamble.

Thanks so much for your generosity!

LIFELINE SYRIA Jan 30th PICS (1) (9)In another display of Brands For Canada’s continued partnership with Lifeline Syria, our dedicated volunteers gave a warm welcome to an incoming family of seven. To help settle into Canada’s harsh winter climates, the new arrivals were given a full winter wardrobe – complete with hats and coats, donated from our partner brands. The young arrivals had a blast trying out their new winter gear and posing for family photo-ops at our donation facility that was created specifically for welcoming incoming refugee families. Our friendly staff also provided them with essential personal care and household items, which were generously donated by P&G, Gap Inc. Canada, Flow water and anonymous donors, to make their transition into their new Canadian lifestyle an inviting and seamless one. Brands for Canada continues its efforts in coordinating a memorable and welcoming reception for newcomers that gives them the tools and everyday essentials they need to establish their new home.

From toothpaste to laundry detergent, toilet paper to shampoo, P&G brands provide Canadians with essentials we rely on daily.  Working with Brands for Canada (BCF) and its partner, Lifeline Syria, P&G is donating everyday household and personal care products to Syrian refugees to help ease the transition as they make Toronto their new home.  Beginning January 14, 2016, Syrian refugee families, referred by Toronto settlement agencies, will be welcomed at BFC’s distribution warehouse and be provided with new brand-name coats, clothing, and household and personal care items such as TidePantenePampers and Crest. Similar efforts will be coordinated for Syrian refugee families arriving across Canada.  Get a sneak peek behind-the-scenes as volunteers help prepare donations for families.

We are finalizing relationships with our referral partners, Lifeline Syria, COSTI and the Arab Community Centre of Toronto, to organize the referral process for the Syrian families. Families will be provided with coats and clothing for each member as well as several brand-name household and personal care items such as, Pantene, Crest, Papers, Tide, Downy, Bounty paper towels and Flow water. Thank you to our incredibly generous donors!

Brands for Canada is proud to partner with Lifeline Syria to provide refugee families with care packages including new clothing and personal care items. All goods are new and include a coat or snowsuit, clothing, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes, diapers and household cleaning supplies. “We have always supported new Canadians through our distribution social service agency partners. We are proud to be a part of this special humanitarian effort,” said Helen Harakas, BFC’s executive director.
